Characteristics and scope of application
It has a low density and is the lightest material among commonly used plastics. Strength, hardness, rigidity and heat resistance are better than low-pressure polyethylene, and can be used for a long time at 100-120°C. It hardly absorbs water, has good chemical stability, has excellent high-frequency electrical performance and is not affected by humidity, and is easy to form. However, it is brittle at low temperature, not wear-resistant, easy to age, and has a large molding shrinkage rate. It is often used as general mechanical parts, corrosion-resistant parts, high-frequency insulation materials and cable and wire sheathing.
